Do you own a dog? What Breed?

I, personally, love dogs and I dunno about anyone else.. But I'd love to hear about what dogs you all own and the breed, if you wish to share?
Tell us some things about your beloved animal
I have a Labradoodle named Petey and my boyfriend has a Boxer X Wolfhound named Laika, who is still untrained.
Both very beautiful dogs and get along amazingly!
My dog Petey doesn't really do anything too quirky but he does sit on people's laps.. Which can be a hassle because he's not small

Just joined the forum today and couldn't resist this thread.
Our best beloved is called Charlie - he's a Springer Spaniel.
I was going to post a pic of him but I'm too new - I will later perhaps when i'm no longer under probation

I have a ten month old girl husky. She is awesome I take her to my horse barn almost every day and she loves it, but she always eats the horse poop and pieces of horse hoof laying around the barn .

I own a four year old Yorkshire terrier, male. His name is Max. He weighs ten pounds, and I think that's a little overweight for a yorkie but my parents think his weight is healthy. I really wanted a teacup yorkie that weighed four pounds, however, the prices were sky high ($3,000 for most seller prices, and I heard a lot of health problems can occur from the smaller the yorkie is.) I love my dog though, I was surprised when I got him for my fifteenth birthday

.

Yeah there's quite a lot of dogs with common health problems and they're usually the most pricey ones so that really sucks.

I no longer keep a pet. I have found that it is just too painful to lose them. In my life I have had three dogs: a beagle named Sparkey when I was a child who was hit by a car and died when I was twelve (that was the day I grew up), a Doberman named Lucky who was so "human" it was spooky, and an Australian Shepherd named Aussie. Thankfully I do not know what it is like to lose a child, and I mean no disrespect to anyone who has, but losing a beloved pet must be much the same.
In keeping with the fact that this is a literary website I submit the following poem by Norah M. Holland, c.1870, for anyone who has never heard of it before. This poem perhaps captures the feelings of anyone who has ever lost a pet. And I dedicate it to my three former friends ... the best friends I've ever had.
The Little Dog Angel
High in the courts of Heaven today
A little dog-angel waits,
With the other angels he will not play,
But he sits alone at the gates;
"For I know that my master will come," says he:
"And when he comes, he will call for me."
He sees the spirits that pass him by
As they hasten towards the throne,
And he watches them with a wistful eye
As he sits at the gates alone;
"But I know if I just wait patiently
That some day my master will come," says he.
And his master, far on the earth below,
As he sits in his easy chair,
Forgets sometimes, and he whistles low
For the dog that is not there;
And the little dog-angel cocks his ears,
And dreams that his master's call he hears.
And I know, when at length his master waits
Outside in the dark and cold
For the hand of Death to open the gates
That lead to those courts of gold,
The little dog-angel's eager bark
Will comfort his soul in the shivering dark.

Ive had many dogs in my life and it is rough to lose one, thats for sure. What is really hard is to put one down yourself when they get old and sick, which Ive had to do a few times. But as much as I like dogs, I still keep them, They give you a lot of years of happiness and companionship. I have 3 dogs now, a white Chihuahua named Taffy, a white shaggy mutt named Digger, I used to call him S--thead because he's dumb as a post, but Digger has more class. I picked up a mutt last week, he's part German Shepherd and part every male dog in town. I call him Sam.

I recently lost my 16 year old Chihuahua. It was very heartbreaking and nearly drove my family insane. So we went from one extreme to another and Adopted a six week old Boxer.

His name is Roux Ga Roux like the Cajun Werewolf stories. Roux for short. He is the most amazing dog I have ever owned. Finally at 6 months things are starting to calm down some with him. He dose many tricks. He loves to give high fives and play dead. I miss my Chi but would never trade my Roux for anything in this world.

A tri-colour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is quite a genteel old lady now, with a touch of arthritis, but when she was young she turned heads and won a few prizes at local shows. She is very sociable and loved by all the neighbours and other dogs we meet in the park. Never known to be snappy or yappy, however, she has an excellent sniffer and woe betide any rat which may stray into her territory. I've binned a couple!

OK true confession time
Lady and Charlie are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Lady is a tri color and Charlie is that rusty brown color and white
one spaniel is fun
two is a circus
they do love their people
Charlie is a rescue and Lady does snap at him from time to time. She was here first, so she probably thinks it is her place to eat his food, too.
He is sort of like that annoying little brother who can't sit still, spinning around and around every morning. We can just read his little mind: Hey, Lady, I got kibble. Did you get kibble? Did I tell you? Look! Right here! In my bowl! Kibble! Isn't that great! Hey, did you eat all your kibble? Wait, I had kibble. it was right here. Hey, did you eat my kibble?
she also gets moody when he gets her spot on the bed or the toy she wanted. She will take all the toys and he has no say, but sometimes he pees in his food dish to send a message to people who steal kibble.
but they would miss each other now if they had to be split up
what a joy they are

Those sound like cool dogs. Sam my new dog likes to play with Taffy, my Chihuahua. But hes too big and rough and sometimes make her yelp, and besides that, he gets slobbers all over her. She stays in the house mostly, about all she gets are bathroom privleges. Sam and Digger stay outside, they are too big and rambunctious to be in the house.
