Wikipedia : " Triple J is a nationally networked Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners between the ages of 18-30...

Sounds like our " top 40 " over here ( Casey Kasem )

Jon Faine - Melbourne ABC 774
Tony Blackburn - Pick of the Pops BBC Radio 2
(I grew up listening to Alan Freeman on an old transistor radio)
Johnny Walker - Sounds of the Seventies BBC Radio 2
Gold through the night - The greatest hits of all time GOLD UK

It's brilliant being able to listen to radio all around the world.

Alternative rock on satellite radio or news. Not sure how I survived long driving trips before SiriusXM...

I don't listen to Howard Stern. I'm sure he's interesting, to say the least...

I haven't heard of iheart. Thanks for the info. I was very lucky to be one of the first buyers of Sirius when it first came out years ago, and I got a lifetime subscription for a one-time fee. That $399 was steep at the time, but it's more than paid off for itself.

I'm sure you saved yourself some $ bucks, judging from the monthly fee i heard about a while back when they started...

880 and 1010wins are the tri-state news and panic stations...NPR for entertainment, kissfm is hip hop and there's a few jazz and oldies, uh hem, classic rock indeed... stations inbetween...one that weekly plays swing from the 20's and 30's awesome...there's a SpanEnglish station with dance music for the commute...only way not to go to sleep driving some mornings..."BonBon" and "Thrift Shop" at 5am...

L.B., 1010/ WINS, wow...............it's been years! great station!... 8)

NPR? i have a question: What's w/the faux veddy veddy " pseudo " brit accents?...the muted / dulcet /tones..
Gimmee a break!

In their efforts to appear oh Sooooo SERIOUS, the result is nothing short of HILARIOUS...akin to Madonna and her " ersatz " version of the queen's English....so in that sense i guess one could call it " entertainment " although for me way too obnoxious to endure for more than one second...

i'd chop my arm off for an AUTHENTIC Brit or French accent, but give me death if i hafta sound like them ( like i have an egg up my arse )....the " sound quality " doesn't help the situation either " sorta like broadcasting from a " padded tunnel , or an underground bunker deep in the bowels of the earth... :?

i think i'm a tad older than you, but do you remember the " overnight " lineup w/Long John Nebel, Barry Gray, Barry Farber, etc.?
now that was RADIO! ( not like the present " Coast to Coast " gibberish hosted by no talent Geo. Nori )

too bad i don't have an opinion right? :)

Test match cricket when I can otherwise sometimes there are some great short plays on BBC R4, if none of these are available, some music from the 60's or 70's suits me fine.
