Yay! Yes, I know that's when nylon stockings became a thing because silk was in short supply.
Do you guys want a new riddle or should we give the group a break?

1) I am mineral created by an animal. (Silk is produced by silkworms. The silk itself is not an animal but something produced by an animal.)Diana Lowery wrote: ↑01 May 2024, 08:48

2) I am prized by women the world over. (Silk stockings)
3) If your head is in the clouds I will bring you back to earth. (Silk was used to make parachutes.)
4) I can be easily impaired. I CANNOT be easily impaired. (A bit confusing... at its intended-for-use-by-nature-at the-micro-level it was strong, but at our level of size it could be impaired. i.e. silk cocoon homes for silkworms vs. runs in silk stockings.)
HINT: It was far more valuable to women at an earlier time in history when it was less available. (Stockings)
HINT 2: Staying with the "women's choice" clue .... the period I was in short supply for women's need was the 1940s. (Stockings during period of rationing.)

I'm ready for a break, but I will check in from time to time to see if I can offer anything to help solve a riddle.María Andrea Fernández Sepúlveda wrote: ↑01 May 2024, 13:00
