Oh, cool!

Thanks, everyone!

You may find me in a parking lot
Or on city sidewalks
Or you may spend a day
Traveling to find me where I start

Others find my doppelgangers in stores
But they are not me

What am I?

Drains

You may find me in a parking lot: water drains
Or on city sidewalks: water drains set in the sidewalk
Or you may spend a day Traveling to find me where I start: you can spend a whole day, following the drains to find where the sewers start.
Others find my doppelgangers in stores But they are not me: stores sell sink drains and such, but they are not the same as massive street drains.

Footprints or tracks in snow?

Doesn't work with the store clue though

Not drains, fire hydrants, lines, cars, parking lots, sidewalks, or footprints/tracks.

Clues:
You may find me in a parking lot
Or on city sidewalks
Or you may spend a day
Traveling to find me where I start

Others find my doppelgangers in stores
But they are not me

Hints:
Picking me out is a fun activity
You only have me a short while every year
Pronouns: She/Her

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.
