Congratulations @DATo :tiphat:
Imagine if we had no secrets, no respite from the truth. What if everything was laid bare the moment, we introduced ourselves?

Gravy's comment, "I am so sorry. I actually thought this would be an easy one." reminded me of MY riddle where the answer was "ravioli" so I figured we were overthinking the clues and that it was something simple.

The next riddle is something VERY simple and common too. Don't overthink it.

1) I can be an embarrassment when displayed in a formal setting, but totally ignored in an informal setting.

2) I can be either organic or nonorganic (and often mixed) in composition.

3) I am not edible.

4) Though I am quite insignificant I can, under specific circumstances, either help to save your life or take your life. (difficult but valid clue)

5) No one would intentionally buy me but I come as a byproduct of some purchased items.

What am I ?
Sawdust ?

Ash is also very close but not correct.

HINT: You are going out on a job interview. You want to look your best. You check yourself out in a full length mirror. This might be something you are looking for.

@Luastella Not a stain.

@Kajol Dadhania - So far you are the closest, but not dandruff.

The answer is very, very, very simple ... something you see all the time.

Not exactly dust, but like dust it is something you wouldn't want to be seen on your clothes when you go out into a public area, especially a formal event.

FINAL HINT: It is something that is collected for disposal in a home appliance
