This one might be a bit easy, but here you go!

Inside, I burn with a heat that no water can quench.
Wherever I am, I am powerful.

What am I?

My immediate thought was of something metallic - cold and hard on the outside with an engine inside. A missile?

Thanks Luna. I've been craving Mexican food lately so something "spicy" was affecting my answer *LOL*

I'm thinking the outside could be a building because buildings are both cold and hard. Like a building with a fire inside which can't be put out with water?
