I have not seen a bookmark in real life. I only hear about it online. So..

I am one of those people who frown upon bookmarking by folding down the corner of book pages :techie-studyingbrown: . I guess you could say I am a book purist : )

When I started reading, many years ago I used to slightly fold my pages to remember important lines or my favorite ones that something's special is in here, on this page that's folded. Because from the beginning, I didn't like to write in my book, doesn't matter if it's not a pen but a simple pencil, that you can erase later. But I didn't like to write on it so I used to fold it. How silly!
But now, I've changed! I use flags and notes to annotate and there is no need of folding pages or write on my book. Looking back, I hate myself for doing that and now whenever I see someone doing that exact same thing I used to do, I detest them! :lol2:

I don't really remember doing that ever, but also I never used bookmarks. I would always end up reading through the parts I have already read trying to figure out where I left... :D
I was pretty young to understand about a simple thing like a bookmark.

For me, folding the corners of pages ruins the story of the book. If I ever find a book in which only one page has been folded, I won't enjoy the story. It bothers me a lot. I used to be one of those who folded the corner of every page, even while reading just for fun, but now I have learned a lot. I like creating new things with art; in my spare time, I either paint bookmarks for myself or buy them as I like. I create bookmarks based on the genre of the book that I'm reading. 🙊

I'd rather put a long piece of paper in between the pages than to fold. I don't really like folding a page. It ruins the book for me.
