I love libraries. My schedule doesn't enable me to work consistent hours but I do volunteer to help out with some of the many programs my libraries offer. My favorites are the Summer Reading Program for kids under 12 and also the book sales :)

Kudos to both of us! I too have been a library volunteer and a teachers aide in the Art class of my grandson's school

I volunteer at a local library and I love it. Sorting shelves generally just consists of reading the first page of every book you touch :D

I don't work at a library at the moment, but I volunteered at one years ago. I helped out children with their summer reading program. I absolutely loved working in such a comforting and rich atmosphere with parents and children who were genuinely excited about books.

I'd love to work at one again in the future.

That is my favorite thing to volunteer for. The kids love the program and are so much fun.

I'm with you on this one. Some of the books at the library really stink. I do give the new ones the occasional sniff, though :)

What do they smell like? Do different genres have distinct flavors? :P

Of course! Crime smells of gunpowder, poetry smells of pretentiousness and erotica smells of ... well, you get the point
