I always choose book for both relaxation and escapism. I rarely watch movies. If I need a break, I surf the net.

I absolutely love reading but I also throughly enjoy movies. I always choose to read the book first then watch the movie and ultimately the book always wins my favor.

I usually use books for both relaxation and escapism, unless I am relaxing with my husband and/or kids then I will watch a movie with them.

I choose a book for escapism and relaxation. Books are so much easier for me to become absorbed in and that is what I am looking for when I want to forget about the real world for a while.

I will always choose a book. Don't watch much on TV or at the movies but do occasionally enjoy seeing a good book made into a movie if they do a good job of it. So often they leave too much out or change it to make it commercial.

I definitely prefer books to movies except for science fiction. I don't mind giving up a couple of hours of my time to watch a sci-fi movie, but I don't want to invest the time that it takes to read a book in that genre.

Books rule. I hardly ever watch TV and I find most movies not so great. Rarely do I watch a movie after I've read the book. IMO, they are never as good and I am always disappointed.

Movies and TV for escaping, books for learning about history or science.
You can't put a rope around the neck of an idea.

I definitely use both.
Books I use more for escapism. But I still love ending my night with a chapter from a good book, it eases me into sleep.
I use movies for relaxation mostly, sometimes I just have them on while I'm eating or on the internet doing other things.
There are some movies I can really escape into and for that I can't do anything else I need to focus only on the movie. This is usually when a movie has a good story of course.

Odds are better for finding a " decent " book than a movie, sad to say...Hollyweird just " doesn't get it "
