Visiting libraries?

I was just wondering if many of you here still visit your local libraries? My mom was our town's librarian for many years and some of my fondest memories are of going there and just roaming the aisles, checking out all of the great books. I loved being there.

I used to go to the Library a lot when i was younger. I just don't have time right now with the job, family, etc.

I love visitng the libraries of cities I visit. Sundsvall, Sweden has a really modern library with skywalks.

I do, but not as much as I browse local used bookstores. I find those to be much "cooler."

I live in my local library (but I have to provide my own food).

I used to spend a lot of time in my local bookshop but I end up with longer and longer reading lists. Add to that the uncontrollable sobbing and you've got a recipe for disaster. We have got 6 or 7 charity shops in the town I live in and I tend to find quite a number of current titles in them for a fraction of their 'new' price so I buy those. I don't know about other countries, but new books in the UK are rather expensive, especially for those on a tight budget (who isn't these days) so libraries and secondhand help those of us who feel better when we are completely surrounded by paper.

My local library is rarely open outside normal work hours which annoys me, as i do spend a lot of money on books. Nowadays i do try to get books either from Amazon marketplace or from charity shops/secondhand shops. As claudibee said you can get nearly new titles for half the cost.

I used to go to the libraries before. But now if I have much time I just go to the bookstore.

I miss the smell of books in our college library. I spent a lot of time there especially during my thesis days . . .

Speaking of second hand shops, I have a friend who will only buy books in a second hand shop if she know the writer is dead, so she won't feel guilty about them not getting the money for it.

I must be in there two-three times a week. If not only to pick up my sister who volunteers there, or to get a book I had transferred.
