How'd you QUIT the ciggies ?

Post by suzy1124 »

I failed a million times! but miraculously it FINALLY worked...

My trick was to " delay " a craving for 10 minutes, in which time the " climbing up the wall " feeling just disappears...

Before you know it you're smoking LESS ciggies, therefore by ingesting less nicotine, it's much easier to quit cold turkey...

My last smoke was 4 yrs. ago in April of 2010...I decided to quit when my 2 pack a day habit became 2/1/2...

Actually it was my ANGER that fueled me...at myself and the tobacco companies...

It's one of the most difficult things I'd ever achieved, but having said that, although Sooo hard, it's very DOABLE!...after all if such a hard core smoker such as myself WAS ABLE TO QUIT ANYONE CAN DO IT !

well I never really smoked...experimented in high school like all rebellious teenagers but I am allergic to the smoke so it was a no go for me. Hubby however quit several times after the first baby was born. He used the vapor cigarettes and one day just stopped all together. Now he only smokes when he is really stressed out or drinking but he never does it at home or on a regular basis. :)

I never got the whole addiction factor of cigarettes not that i don't have an addictive personality for everything else. For me smoking was 1 part rebellion, 1 part social acceptance, and 1 part boredom. What helped me was hookah and e-cigs. Thanks to all the super amazing flavors I can stand cigarettes unless i'm drunk. I think it helped living with people who smoke inside the house too... I've never liked the smell of cigarette smoke.... Now I'm always in it and i'm just like but why?! Living with two people who each smoke a pack and a half a day kills you when I was never more then a half a pack a day person. How does someone smoke that much?
