Do you believe in dream analysis?

So I've been doing some research on dream analysis as of late, and some of It seems logical. Though a good portion seems like bologna to me. What do you think? Have you ever used it for one of your own or a friends dreams?

I kind of like the idea of the subconscious sending us messages in our sleep. Some of it makes sense, but also so many things can be so vague when you read about interpretations... so you end up seeing whatever meaning you want to say... okay, yeah, I don't think that made any sense... grrr... sorry!
I think it should be just for fun but not taken too super seriously...

Anyone want to analyze this recurring dream I have been having since I was 13 years old.
I've never aged in the dream: I'm also 13. My nephew is there as well. He was 9 at the time (Yes, my nephew and I are only 4 years apart in age; don't judge my weird family) and remains 9 in the dream to this day. The two of us are trapped inside a giant mansion owned by a vampire. We can't get out until we find SOMETHING. I never actually find out what this something is, but I can only assume it is the key to unlock the door. So we're going through this maze-like house, and sometimes we run across these giant ghosts like you see in Super Mario Brothers games. They don't do any harm; they just block the path and we have to find another way.
If I had to guess, I would say this is symbolic of my life experience in general. I am constantly looking for something (i.e. the meaning of life) while trapped in the home of someone who wants to suck the life out of me (i.e. TIME). The ghosts are obviously obstacles and problems I have to figure out. Okay, wait, why am I analyzing myself and being way too serious about it.
I want chocolate.

No. Not at all, I only dream about what I was thinking about during the day, so there isn't any message there.

Of course it works! If you go to a psychiatrist they'd use your dreams to build a psychological profile and help treat any neuroses you may have. Dreams work on two levels: the manifest (what you actually see) and the latent (it's possible symbolic meaning). Dreams only occur so that the brain is able to manage and contain repressed material, which is why the manifest content is often trivial but random, though it may have symbolic meaning. If the dream constantly recurs in exactly the same way, then it's probably important and likely stems from an event that happened to the person at the age it first appeared

Unless you're talking about the DIY dream analysis things you can get online with meanings for everything. In which case, I wouldn't trust everything it says
