Post by brado10 »

Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I am wondering where people buy there books. I would love to hear back, and can't wait to see what you have to say.

I am a cheap reader so I either buy my books at garage sales or Goodwills. If you have a Kindle, amazon is a great place to get ebooks. There are many free books offered by Amazon.

Amazon trumps EVERYONE FOR PRICE, SERVICE AND CONVENIENCE...I also enjoy the " samples " of free reading right there on the web-site to help you re your decision of whether to purchase a particular book or not...

I buy most of my books at yard sales, thrift stores and so on.

Before my kindle, I usually bought them new wherever I saw one which struck my fancy. This included bookstores, drugstores, and grocery stores. We were also lucky to have an excellent library, and a local used book reseller. Then there were also books I picked up at flea markets and yard sales. I am a big reader, so my Kindle makes things ultra convenient for me now. You can also check the Salavation Army and Goodwill with those options I was donating to a good cause while feeding my book fix.

Whenever I go to Utah I get a bunch from Deseret Industries. Paperbacks are 25 to 50 cents, hard cover are a dollar sometimes two dollars. If you hit them at certain times, they have close-outs where they sell all the older books for 25 cents.

You can get some pretty good deals on books. The best place to get them are the DI's in smaller towns they tend to run a little cheaper than the main one in Salt Lake.

Thriftbooks is a great website for getting cheap books! There's also a local used bookstore where I live and they always have a great selection.
