Has anyone had a reading related injury?

Recently, I hurt my wrist leaning on it for too long while reading and I hurt my elbow keeping it hyper extended too long while propping a book up on it. Please tell me I am not the only one injured while reading.

I've gotten Carpal Tunnel in my left wrist from holding my Kindle in the same position for too long... the down side of holding a book that doesn't require much movement to turn a page.

I've had a pile of books fall down on my head, but unfortunately it failed to knock any sense into me!

Thank you for sharing ALynnPowers. I feel so much better knowing others have been injured reading. It seems silly that a book could cause physical harm.

OMG debbiebee that sounds so painful! How many books? Where were you?

About six or seven and I was in bed - in that half awake, half-asleep state. Actually it didn't hurt that much, maybe I have a hard head!

I think I have blocked out all those dreaded papercuts that led me to my Kindle in the first place.

I'm lying. That's not why I got a Kindle. Lack of space without creating a fire hazard was the real reason. 8)

@debbiebee thank goodness you're so hard headed. :P

@ALynnPowers I can honestly say I have never gotten a papercut from a book I read for pleasure. Only those evil text books and handouts in school. ;)

That's fortunate then. I think I am injured more from books i am reading for fun... just because I am so absorbed and not paying attention. One moment of carelessness leads to a few days of pain.

Mel, have you dropped any books on your face or given yourself carpal tunnel lately?

It must be because you are more conscious about it! But don't go and jinx it now! Knock on wood!

If lack of sleep from reading too long leads to stubbing a toe in the morning is considered a reading related injury, then yes I have hurt myself reading.
