Do you believe that a person can finish reading one Harry Potter book in a day?

Sure. I did ;-) I've always been a really fast reader.

The earlier ones are easier, though. The last few took a few days to get through. :)

Easily. I read the last book twice and both times I finished in under a day....about 8-9 hours. (though I didn't time it)

And I have no problem retaining everything despite reading it quickly.

There is a big difference between reading and understanding, if in terms of reading I can say yes, I can finish reading a harry potter book for a day, but by means of understanding every angles and situations in it then its not fit for just a day..

I think some of the earlier shorter ones would be no problem. I think you could read the first one and understand it in a day no problem
