Once you are done with a book, how long does it usually take for you to finish the review once you start it? Do you ponder about it for a while before you start writing? Do you take breaks in between to think it through? What’s your average time taken to write a review?

I will take 1.5 hours to post a review. I won't take any rest while writing review.

It takes me about a day or two. I like to reflect on a book, think about it for a while once I'm done with it.

i usually wait a day or two after reading a book to mull over what I've read. The actual writing takes no more than a couple of hours.

It depends on the review. I take notes as I go and color code them so I have an idea of what to include. The review itself could take anywhere from 20 minutes (not including editing) to a day. Typically it's only an hour or so. Editing always takes me longer and it's still rarely error-free. However i usually try to have them written right after finishing the book if time allows so I don't forget anything important (though notes help).

I take note as I read along, I also color code in most cases I take break to reflect what was on the Author's mind when he/she was writing the book before I finally conclude on my Review

I have never counted the exact hours, but it doesn't take more than 1-1.5 hrs, as I generally take notes of all the points while reading that I would like to include in my review!

One important note - it's often helpful to take a break when you think you're done with the review. After a few hours or a day, it looks different, and things you didn't notice before (errors, awkwardness) are very apparent.

Initially, it takes me about 2 to 3 days to complete a review. I write the review immediately after finishing the book, then proofread it and leave it for a day. On the second day, I review it again, make adjustments, and then submit it. Over time, I've improved and now write and submit my reviews immediately after finishing the book, taking less than 2 hours.

Great question- I take lots of notes while reading so writing the reviews goes quickly. They take me about 30 minutes to write and edit. I like to do this as soon as I'm done with the book so all the details are still fresh in my mind.

It takes me about 1 day to complete it. I write it right away after I finish the book. Then I write the review then come back 3-4 times to reread and make any additions and corrections.

I've been trying to ponder the pros and cons of a book while in the process of reading. I've something that sticks out to me as bothersome, I'll make note of it. Or if there is something I really appreciate, I'll write that down in my notes. So then when I complete the book, I have a general idea of what I might want to say. Then I'll peruse other peoples reviews as well, to compare and contrast thoughts and ideas. Then usually I'll spend maybe a few days drafting up a review. Usually I have some general template developed before I even provide an update that I've finished the book, in case I want to go back and re-read parts of the book.

While I am reading a book, I will highlight, in yellow, important sentences and paragraphs that give the gist of the story or topic. If there are interesting tidbits or facts I learned, I will highlight them in orange. Grammar mistakes, profanity and sexuality are highlighted in pink. I probably take at least 5 hours to 6 hours to complete a review. First I write a rough draft of my thoughts about the book right after I finished reading it. Then I go back, re-read it(2 or 3 times), correct any grammar mistakes I may have made, refer to the book to make sure the info I put aligns with the content of the book, re-read again and take out excessive info to make the review more concise, copy sentences that I suspect might be breaking a grammar rule and recheck them by refering to a grammar book and dictionary. Next, I have my wife read it out loud to me to discover any mistakes I missed. Then I read it again. I prepare my lists of grammar errors, profanity, and sexual references so that I will be ready to fill in the PRQ info. I also prepare a blurb about the ending of the book in case that will be requested. Then I recheck the OBC guidelines and read one more time before my final draft and submission of the review. Whew! You gotta love doing this stuff. I love the challenge of writing a great review.

As of lately, I usually spend 2-3 hours on a review. But it all depends on how well I take notes as I am reading through the book. Making sure I identify instances of profanity and explicit content. Making sure that I took note of things that I felt were strengths and weaknesses of the book. Then otherwise just take time to read through my review for grammatical errors etc.

I take about 2 hours to effectively write a review. I must first reflect on the book and make sure I confirm the notes I've taken on grammatical errors.
