What is your least favourite words?

Mine are specific (probably cause I had such a hard time pronouncing it growing up) and tepid.

Lol :lol: I don't care for the "F" word. But in general I love most words. :)

Yeah, I don't usually dislike words. If a word stands out to me, I usually like it.

I don't think I can repeat most of them on this forum. Most are related to female genitalia. Ugh.

I hate most of the texting words today. It drives me nuts when someone posts a message that has "ur", "2" (for to or too), "rele" (for "really), "wudnt" (for wouldn't), "sum1", and all the other crazy stuff people write. When I see messages like that in forums, I rarely read them because it annoys me so much. I understand the need to abbreviate when someone is sending a text message on a phone, but there's no real excuse on a forum or Facebook. Hope I didn't offend anyone!

yeah I have to agree on that, and the examples Bowlie made are not even the worst abbreviations I get to see online, some are really unbearable to read.

"Green." BAN IT. I have never found a word so horribly abused as this in the past few years.

I found another word that irritates me!

Your and You're (or vice versa)....no one seems to know the difference between them. It takes everything I have to not correct people when I see they've mistaken "you're" for "your". To me, it's hard not to see the difference.

You're = You are

Your = possessive

The difference is:

You're a terrible speller.

-OR-

Your mama is a terrible speller.

So, there it is. Two words that I absolutely cannot stand because no one seems to know the difference between them! :evil:

Whatever.

I cannot abide when I see people rolling their eyes and chanting, "Whatever, whatEVA," when someone is trying to tell them something they don't want to hear. It makes them look incredibly ignorant and immature to boot.

"Seen". I don't know if its just the people I hang out with but a select few misuse it so much and its a major pet peeve of mine.

An example would be "Yeah, I seen that" instead of "Yeah, I saw that".

Seen being only a viable choice if it has words such as, has and have, in front of it.

*rage*

I also agree with Bowlie, another pet peeve.
