How did you get your name?

Post by Donnavila Marie01 »

Ms. Jenkins named Alex Fine. How did you get your name? Or who gave you your name?

My name is Chanler, and my mom heard that name in a movie once, I don't know the name of it though. She liked the name so much but wanted to make it sound more girly so she took out the d, and that's how I got my name.

I am the youngest of 5. Mum apparently wrote down several names she liked and couldn't decide between, including my granddad's favourite name (which is Victoria-my name :P) and let them choose. One was Bethany, another was Ruth but they all decided that my full name should be Victoria Ruth...they chose the two posh sounding ones and shoved them together. Thanks family!!

Apparently my mom was dead-set on the name Elizabeth, right up until she started having contractions and my grandpa drove her to the hospital. During that ride, he wouldn't shut up about how much he liked the name Katherine, so my mom (in all the pain and agony of beginning labor) agreed with him to shut him up. Except she shortened Katherine to Katie.
She got my middle name from the Beatles song that was playing on the radio during the same drive! "They call the wind Miriah~"

My first name was just a name my parents picked out of a baby name book. My name starts with an A and it was one of the first names they saw. My middle name is the same as my mother's. My last name is the same as my father's.

My mom had watched a movie and that inspired her to give me my name. At first, she was going to add an extra syllable that would've been really funky. Thank goodness for one of my aunts who said she wouldn't add the extra syllable because I love my name!

Amazing name. It is not a typical famous name but it has magic in it that everybody recalls because of its uniqueness.

My parents decided on Amanda over Nicole because they liked the nickname Mandy better than Nicky. Funny thing is I have never been called Mandy. My dad nicknamed me Manni-Mo. (He's the only one allowed to call me that)

My name is Celeste (I don't know why the unnecessary e at the end), a name my dad chose if I understood the story right. My parents couldn't decide between Elaine or Siobhan, so I ended up as Celeste. I would have preferred to be Elaine, though.

How nice. I am pretty sure, your grandpa loves you so much and is very thankful that his wish was granted by your mom who was having painful contractions that time. A perfect chance :D

My mom gave me my name, Natalie. However, originally she wanted to name me Nova. My grandma told my mom that she would not hold me if my mother named me Nova, so my mom just picked another "N" name quick. I am the oddball when it comes to names. My immediate family members' names all start with "J" (or in the case of my dad, a "G" [George, so the same sound]).

How sweet. I bet your name serves as your strong bond with your dad. Though I find Manni-Mo having the same length with your real name. :)

My name is Fuzaila. My mom wrote down names when she was pregnant and picked one for me. Apparently in Arabic it means 'The most precious one'
