Freshwater Aquariums Anyone???

Since this area of the forums is for anything "off topic" I thought I'd ask if anyone has a freshwater aquarium. I just replaced my 12 gallon Eclipse tank for a 26 gallon glass Aqueon tank. I'm not all that satisfied with the filtration unit and am thinking about getting another one. I would prefer to avoid a canister unit just because I don't have the space and they are more expensive. I had a Marineland biowheel one in my last tank and it seemed to work pretty well. Anyone have any advice?
Right now I have three otos, one platy (with two more to come soon), one Molly (one more coming), a glass catfish, a pleco, and two baby swords.
