Finish the story...

Post by morebooks4me »

I thought it might be fun to write a silly story on this forum. Everyone add a sentence. It can be whatever you want.

Once upon a time there was an old bulldog who wore a shiny purple color with a bell that jingled when he walked.

His master had placed the bell around the bulldog's neck one day after he'd wandered off into a swamp.

The bulldog thought of his master as cruel for restricting him like that, but his master ( Jack ) had his reasons for doing so, because Jack was fully aware of what lived in the swamps and the dangers posed by wandering the area, particularly at night.

Soon after the bell was placed around his neck, the moon shone very high in the night sky, and the bulldog could not help himself from following his nose into the shimmering darkness of the swamps..

One day the bulldog decided to leave the master as it was very tired by his rudeness and by the sound of the bell jingling on the neck. So late at night the bulldog went out of the gate.

But not before tipping over the kitchen bin to see what provisions he could find, a small sac, potato peelings and an old printer cartridge was what he found. hmmmmmmm these could come in useful he thought before heading out on what he supposed could be a mildly interesing night.

Jack had spent so many years in solitude that he had become reclusive, thoughtless, underestimating the intelligence of his jingling dog. The only thing more monotonous and irritating than the constant sound of the bell was the constant reruns of MacGyver.

The dog ran through the gate and into the night. His ridiculous collar, his tinkling badge of shame, snagged on a branch, tore and fell silent in the dust.

Jack awoke in the morning not to the sound of the redicilous tinkling bell, but to silence, which horrified him as he stumbled out of bed in only his bright green wolly socks and white undies. Scratching his head as he searched the home all the while the fear bubbling in his stomach as the seconds ticked by and yet..... no bell, no dog.......nothing......walking by the front window he has a glimpse of something shiny on the ground, slowly he opens the door.........the cold air prickiling his skin causing him to shiver , he bends down to inspect the shiny thing......he lets out a sream as his fingers caress the inscription.......one letter at a time....K...I...T....T...Y.....

He didn't quite understand the meaning of this; he was too paranoid. He needed to find his bulldog, his only true friend.
