Pets Watch Television??

Hi,
I had a cat called Burle. One evening we were watching some footage of foxes in a garden. He strolled up to the TV and put his face to it as though he was looking through a window. He wasn't pleased to have pesky foxes in the house.
My sister's dog has started to bark at the TV when any animal (other than humans) is featured.
Most cats and dogs don't bother with TV are the ones that do more intelligent or just a little loony?
Does Your Pets (Dog, Cat, Parrots etc) Watch TV??

I don't think that animals watch TV as they just follow the motion on the screen and just observe it. That's my opinion.

my cat thoroughly enjoys watching any kind of wildlife doc on tv...particularly if birds are involved. it is highly amusing for all. and i know my parents' cat really enjoys watching nascar.
i agree though that is most likely more the motion then the actual subject matter

I'm not sure if they watch it, but what I know for sure they hear and undertsand a lot, I can see that by the reaction of my dog

I'm glad someone made a topic about this! Sometimes my dog will "watch" the TV, but only when there are animals on the screen.

My dog has a habit of staring at the screen if there is ever a bullseye on the screen, like a Target commercial

Well my dog reacts to other animals featured on TV. But I don't think my dog REALLY watches TV as that would be really freaky.

My Persian cats do watch TV but not that always, maybe the right time at the right place.

Really? You caught them holding the remote and flicking through the channels?

Nah, that's too out of this world. But I saw them one time chewing on my joints, that was pretty cool they slept all day! lol

Haha, i have to say that'd be pretty weird, but i've had pets do it.
My dog right now always comes in and lays down, her sight never wavering from the tube if there was a doorbell sound, knock, or another dog.
and dogs can actually learn from it, i wonder if cats could...
I would assume parrots could because of the sound.

Yes! One of my dogs could be quite interactive with any animal on the screen. With children and people he just watch quietly.we could see he was paying attention.
