I remember the pinball machines. There was a cafe in Kenniwick, Wn. where I used to play them for meals. A friend of mine was hooked on them, he would blow a whole paycheck on them. Remember the punchboards they used to have in bars and cafes? I spent about 10 dollars on one and won a 69 cent can of peanuts. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

For board games I used to love playing sorry and life. I was more of a sportsy girl though and I played in a lot of sports growing up. I did basketball, soccer, softball, swimming, golf, and volleyball.

I used to play chess with my dad when he was in the hospital for a time. Remember Chinese Checkers? I played that a lot when I was a kid.

Did you ever play marbles? That was a big thing back then. You never hear anything about it anymore. Wonder if kids still play it?

Not that I remember. Just marbles. There were different kinds, aggies, steelies, and I dont remember what all. I remember they had championship tournaments all over the country.
Also about that time yo-yo's were a big fad. Every kid and a lot of adults had a yo-yo. I even had a gold plated one. It looked cool, but didnt work worth a fig.

oh yes, i forgot about yo yo's............huge craze!...did you have skate KEYS?....I think those marbles and all of their stunning colors led to my passion for COLOR and ART...they were so pretty...
aggies, immies, shooters, and swirls were nick names for " marbles " back then where i lived...

I remember some of those names. Some people collect marbles, all different kinds.
I remember skate keys, altho I never had my own skates. I used to skate a lot at roller rinks on rented skates. I was a fair skater but never could get the hang of ice skating.
When I was a kid we used to make soap-box cars from old junk lumber and wagon parts. They were a ball going down hills lickity-split. No brakes, not very good steering but a lot of fun even after a few crack-ups.
