Facebook Username Issue - Name Already Taken

Post by Esther-David »

Hello! I uploaded my government ID selfie about 6 months ago. I recently was given a notice that I did not upload my ID, with no link to re-upload it, and my payment profile says I have uploaded it. I reached out to support for help and they asked me to show what happens when I click the (non-existent) link to upload the ID...frustrating. Anyway, the notice about my ID said to link to my Facebook account. However, when I went to change my OBC name to match my Facebook account, it says there is an error and my name is already taken. I will not change my Facebook username as that is already my full name.

I reached out to support about it and they said to remove the space between my names in my OBC username. Again, I saw an error message that said the name was already taken. So, I added a hyphen between my first and last names. Will this be okay for the Facebook verification? And honestly, it is extremely frustrating that the guidelines say the OBC username and Facebook name has to match, as multiple people can and do have the exact same name.
