Stripe verification

Post by Sarah Zain »

Hi everyone.
I was asked to prove my identity, which I did before on the site, but was asked again via Stripe. But even though my phone is already verified on the site. Now, it seems that there is a problem sending the verification code. Has anyone been exposed to this situation and how did you solve the issue? I have already sent a message to the support team but have not received an answer yet.

The first time, the SMS with the code didn't arrive, so after some minutes, I asked to resend it, and the second time it arrived regularly.
Ciao :)

I tried many times nothing has been send. And now the provided link refuses to redirect me to the verification site. I'm puzzled. I don't know what to do. Already send an email to support hope they will figure out what the problem and solve it.
Thank you.

Mine went through with no problems, but I was hesitant at first to comply. I hate doing things like that.

I was previously verified by uploading a selfie with my ID and I have been paid. Stripe keeps saying that I need to use another document, but I only have two forms of ID and it won't accept either. Support on here keeps telling me to try again, but won't say why I was paid before and am not being paid now. And they won't help me upload to Stripe.

I am getting frustrated with the process.

I have gone through the process thrice since yesterday morning and the status keeps stating incomplete when I I'm redirected back to OBC.

I hope this issues are resolved before the June 15th deadline.

Hi Sarah, it seems like I'm having the same problem with not receiving the Stripe verification code. May I ask if your issue has been resolved?

Hi Do Thi. Unfortunately no, I am still going back and forth with support to try to find out the problem.
If anyone knows or find a solution please let us know.
Thank you.

Here's my thoughts: Stripe may not have the technology to verify IDs in some countries, especially some countries in Africa and Asia. I believe this is the reason for all the back and forth. I have been waiting for more than a week for a response, still nothing. Support only sent me a link to keep checking the status. If this is a way of stopping top level reviewers from some regions accessing high paying books in the guise of fishing out scammers, then it's a shame.

I don't know why they decided to use Stripe to verify our (already verified) identities. I had problems since the beginning: first the SMS never arrived to my Guatemalan phone number. I had to purchase an eSIM because no one was interested in helping me, support just kept telling me to try again and that "maybe I should delete the code" but Stripe was the one adding it.
Finally, I was able to upload my ID.
Then, the email glitch came, but they solved it.
Now, I've been emailing for over two weeks because of a name "mismatch" because Stripe does not understand that an a with an accent (á) is still an "a" and I can write it with or without the accent. But no one replies my emails or is willing to solve our problems. I am so tired and frustrated. I am sure they are trying to get rid of scammers, but they could also help us and use some common sense.

I have a problem too. It says the country on my payment profile doesn't match the one I used for identification, and yet I used the same country!!! What happens then? I am at a loss for words.

Ever since the verification with stripe. I’ve had discrepancies then it goes away, only return back. It’s so weird. It’s stopping payments because of discrepancies but it is saying verified on my payment profile. Please if any of you solved it, I’d like to know how.

I really hope that someone finds a solution to the problem, especially since it is not our fault and most of those affected by it are members who have previously verified their identities on the site.

So what happens when the discrepancy is fixed? Do you get paid?

Sometimes I do get paid within the week but you never know which review it’s for. Instead of it being an older and larger paid review, it’s sometimes lesser paid more recent review.
Other times you might not get paid and the discrepancy will pop up again. It doesn’t allow you to reverify so you’d have to contact support.
