ok ladies and gents i got an old book for a buck its called searchlight recipe book its by household magazine it has some old papers from 1960-1975 anyone got any idea how old this might be

It's amazing what google can do for you. By simply typing Searchlight recipe book I found that the book seems to have been in print since the 1930's but seeing as yours has papers from the 1970's I assume it's at least that old.
