Barack Obama visits Ireland!:D

Post by StephenKingman »

Just caught the coverage of President Obama and his visit to Ireland when i came home from work, and its very inspiring to see him and the First Lady visit Moneygall and have a pint of the black stuff in Hayes's pub. He has very distant relatives from Offaly and then he is off to Dublim for a speech and a concert, Go Obama! With the Queen last week and now the President of the United States, its a big boost to the country. Ireland- the place to be, people

Definitely Mike, been watching it on and off all day & it was absolutely amazing stuff, not the best of weather but that didn't make the slightest difference to the warmth, the enthusiasm and the sincerity of both the Obamas and the people of Moneygall & Ireland. And fair play to Michelle she drank her glass of Guinness too ... my kinda woman!

I'm glad you guys appreciate Obama! A lot of people here, including myself are totally disgusted with him and would love it if he moved to Ireland!

He is your President so you are, of course, entitled to your opinion but whatever your views he is certainly an impressive representative of USA.

Well my own personal opinion of him is as a warm and charasmatic man who is very inspiring and made a big success of himself, plus of course his visit will do no harn to Irish tourism, imagine how many people will now want a pint of Guiness in Hayes now,a place previously unknown. :D

Awesome, congratulations to the people in Ireland.

Hopefully next time he will... maybe... probably... pop into Tassie? Ha.

I thought it was entertaining and refreshing, considering all the somber news the U.S. has to deal with. Apparantly his great great great grandfather was irish and immigrated here (to the united states), so when he reached ireland someone shook his hand and said "Welcome home." Hah.

So I think that it will be very effective visit. And to tell the truth Obama looks like very hoping person in personal plan, and for Irish people his visit will be memorable and bright.

Glad to loan him to Ireland for a bit hope you treated him well.

He's no better nor worse than any other recent president so I can't complain much about him. It's just sad the momentum he seemed to have prior to the elections dissipated after he came in to office.

You never call Guiness just a beer in front of an Irishman, if you want to keep your teeth in your mouth.

Thats like calling Coors just a beer in the states, its either Coors or Colorado Kool-Aid.
