Thats a tough one. I dont have any one paticular favorite song, but one that has stayed with me since I was a kid is Eddy Arnold's Dont Rob Another Man's Castle. A really sad song, when I first heard it in the late 40's I would really get choked up. Especially the last verse.

Dont rob a man of his loved one
You'll break his heart dont you see
I robbed another mans castle
Now someone just took her from me.

Arnold's vocal and Roy Wiggins on steel guitar has a teardrop in every note.

My favorite song by my favorite band, Nirvana - On A Plain is a terrific song, love it.

My favorite song of all time is a hard one, I enjoy I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire by The Ink Spots, but I enjoy Ben E. King - Stand By Me.

Wonderful classics.

Nicely said, Bighuey, but I like something with a loud, thumping beat that needs vocals shouted at the top of your lungs. Can't pick a favourite song. Oldies like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Black Sabbath, Hoodoo Gurus, Aerosmith and the inimitable Rolling Stones "Can't Get No Satisfaction".

I like loud, fast music too. Some of the rock from that era was ok. But my favorites like that is rockabilly and swing. Carl Perkins, Sonny Burgess, Sleepy Labeef, Stray Cats, George Thorogood, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Chick Webb, Fletcher Henderson, stuff like that.

Big Bad Handsome Man (Imelda May), 'cause I'm learning it (on guitar) right now. Well, not right now, 'cause I've lost my voice, and it's too depressing to play guit when I can't sing..been sick. But it'll be my favorite one to play for a while 'cause I like to sing it to my hamster (Big Fat Hamster Man).

There are a few that spring to mind, but somewhere near the top of the list is Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, I really like that one.

Cheerleader Grind, 'cause I've never been stuck in such a small space with people who hated each other (and the music) so much. Comes through in the recording, too. Fond memories, my friends.

My favourite song would have to be "Glycerine" by Bush and the reason is it was the song that was playing when I had my first dance with my girlfriend. Every time I play it I remember that night. I know, I know I am a big wuss. :D

Awwwww! That's so sweet! You just got a lot of guys in trouble, though.
she: *turns around in computer chair, smiles at boyfriend/husband*
he: "What?"
she: "What song was playing the first time we danced together?"
he: "What?"
she: "C'mon, what song? I remember...do you?"
he: "What?"
she: "Ugh! Pig!" *runs off to call girlfriends, complain*
he: "What?"

Hahahahahaha....too funny. It's all genres for me. Metal for the ex-husband, grunge for first post-divorce fiancee, crappy jazz for second post-divorce fiancee.
Did I spell fiancee correctly? They were both guys.

thats a pretty good spread, thats for sure. The first wife liked classic rock and country, the second one liked just about anything, the third one was strictly country but she loved that Evil Man Song, its an old blues peice from about 1940 or so. The Hoosier Hotshots made mostly comic songs, I like Bananas Because They Dont Have Bones, stuff like that. But they made a few serious ones like The Kentuckian. Its one really purty song. Did I spell purty right?

Wel, Im shure hapy thet I kin spel gud. I wudint wunt peple to thnk I wuz a dumy. Anyway, enough of this nonsense. I found an old tape I forgot I had that I taped from a live radio broadcast of folk songs from Salt Lake. I think it was from the Dead Goat Saloon. I dont know who this guy was, but he did a song called And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda. About a guy who went to the Gallopi war from Australia and what happened to him. It was one of one of the most moving songs I have ever heard. It really made my hackles rise. The only other one that makes the old hackles stand up is Richard Rodgers super cool Victory At Sea soundtrack.
