Which of the 10 stories in the May book of the month, Holding Fire, is your favorite? Why?

Well, this is a difficult question as the stories all shined in their own way. My personal favorite was Death's Door, as I really liked the detective-style banter between Q and his grandfather. It reminded me of the old Columbo TV series.

I wanted to vote twice above, because I had two favorites: The Unsuspecting Nature of Grief, and Burden of a Soldier. (To the author of Burden of a Soldier, I was unable to vote twice, but you've got my vote also!! Yay!)

The Unsuspecting Nature of Grief was just so original and unpredictable in its premise. I loved that. I like an author who can think outside the box.

Burden of a Soldier really affected me emotionally. I LOVED the ending of it, and I just loved its overall message. It really had an impact on me. I thought it was beautiful.

I love a lot of stories in the book, but if I had to choose one of them, I would have to say "Ghostwriter" by Kristi Hudecek-Ashwill
It was quite twisted supernatural story, which is one of my favorite genres

This is a difficult question for me because I thought all of the stories were well written and kept my attention, but I can't say they are stories I would like to read again because of the theme. I really do prefer stories where the protagonist gets to overcome their obstacles and become successful.

I wish more people would vote for their favorite story since it's clear that more people read the book than the total votes indicate. I wonder if the stories are so varied that it's just hard for readers to pick a favorite.

It is frustrating when you have a poll and get only a few people to vote!!

I loved them all. But my favourite surely is Death's Door!!

Death Door was my favorite but enjoyed all 10 stories.

I was caught up in my work and the reviews, but I'm seriously considering to read it.

All the stories were unique, I enjoyed them all. Dog Eat Dog got my vote simply because I could relate to it personally.

I haven't read it yet, but would love to in the near future. I'm just finishing a series, and trying to refrain myself from other stories and authors to prevent getting the stories mixed up.

Although, I do enjoy short stories, and it'll possibly be my next buy. This forum's recommendations are varied and usually interesting reads.

It was actually quite difficult to make a decision on which story was my favourite but ultimately I opted for Death's Door but Ghostwriter would be a very close second. The story that had the most emotional impact on me was without doubt My Name is Finn, a deeply upsetting story.
All in all a very interesting group of stories with a lot of originality.
