Icon Meaning of the word atins?

Catherine began school and attended mass daily, but understood almost nothing. To help, a novice taught her French in private sessions after atins and after the evening meal.

Can someone help with the meaning of the word atins. I can't seem to find in any English dictionary. Is this French or some religious word?

It looks like a typo. The word should be matins. Matins is the name of a particular church service. I hope that helps.
