Is this correctly framed?

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Hi, I wanted to know is this question is framed correctly,

Does it seem like bad things keep happening to good people while others live their life without consequences?

Is it correct to write "live their life" or should it be "live their lives" or are both of them correct?

Hi, I think "their lives" is the correct choice since the sentence is referring to random people who have different(separate) lives.
We use "their life" when referring to a life that's shared. For example, you'll say, "The children were talking about their life in school; the couple enjoy their life together; their life at work is not easy; they miss their life at home(for family members)," etc.

I hope this helps. You'll also find a deeper explanation at this link https://grammarhow.com/their-life-or-their-lives/

Thank you. I had come across that link when I was looking for the answer, but I wasn't sure if it was a legitimate site, so I thought I'd ask here.

You're welcome! I guess I didn't think to question the site because I already agreed with them. A while back, I had to look up the use of "their heart" Vs. "their hearts" for a book I was reviewing. Using "their heart" didn't make sense to me because I reasoned that people don't have a single heart. This case felt similar.

Makes sense! Thank you for explaining it. :)
