Healthcare vs Health Care

I've searched for the correct spelling of these words online and various dictionaries seem to differ on which format is okay. Some have the open form (health care) and others the closed form (healthcare). I'm confused, which one should I use?

I this kind of case, I check only if the author uses consistently one spelling throughout the book. Even in case of inconsistencies, I report them as uncounted errors because the author has all reasons to argue that both spellings are correct, so those are not "real" errors.
