Score card - points deducted for 4 of 5 stars

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Score card - points deducted for 4 of 5 stars

Post by Michelle Farnsworth »

Hi, this was my first review and I selected the button 4 of 5 stars but received this message on my score card:
"The rating wasn't properly written by showing out of how much are they rating the review. It should have been ‘4 out of 5 stars.’"

Is it because in my actual review I said "I gave this book a 4-star review because...." Should I have said I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars" ?

Yes, you need to mention that it is 4 out of 5 because just saying a 4-star review might indicate that it was 4 out of 4 stars.
