Do I put a space between an author's initials?

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Do I put a space between an author's initials?

Post by Laura Lee »

When the author does not give a first name, do I put a space between his/her initials?

For example, I looked up the author, J. D. Robb, on Amazon. It appears that there is a space between the initials. However, when I looked it up in AP and Chicago styles, there was a difference of opinion. Any suggestions on whether or not to insert a space between the author's initials? Is there one style the moderators prefer? Thanks!

If this is a review book, just put the name as it was on the Select tab.
