Fix a comma splice- semi-colon? Period? Conjunction?

The comma splice in question: "You can read the whole book in an hour, you can ponder the ideas for days."
The two ideas are connected and contrast, so I feel that separating them by a period into two short sentences loses some of the connected feel.
None of the conjunctions that I've considered nicely capture the choose-your-own-adventure vibe aside from and/or.
So, should it be a semi-colon?
