Is it wrong to describe an author's writing style as written in the "first person narrative" as opposed to just saying "first person"?

I think both are understandable, but the convention my find it correct if we say first person narration.

Maybe "first person" is more acceptable than "first person narrative"

Since you have already explained that you are talking about the writing style, I don't think it's cool to add the narrative anymore.

I also think the the word "narrative" is redundant. Less is more :)

Thank you all. I'll go with "less is more".

I prefer "First Person". "First person narrative" sounds uncommon.

It depends on the phrasing.
But, personally, I feel that ‘narrative’ must be included to clarify your meaning and formalize the writing.
It is also written as ‘first-person’, the hyphen makes a distinction to the meaning, points may be deducted should it not be included.

The first one is prefferable. Because the "first person" is used as type of "narration" so it is better to write as "first person narrative".
