Is it okay to italicize a book series?

Post by Kaitlyn Canedy »

I got a score on a review recently, and I was told that I was to italicize the book series to make things more clear. I had already mentioned and italicized two of the books in the series in the review; I had never heard of italicizing the series as well.

I just wanted to know what rule this is supposed to follow, because my Google searches came up short. Any external resources provided would be wonderful, as I am trying to improve my writing skills. Thank you in advance.

You must italicize every title used in a review. You also need to italicize series titles in OBC reviews.

Okay! So if I do a review and I have the book(s) and the series in it, I would italicize like this- East Wind and Lara and Uri?

If that is the name of the series, yes.

I have come to understand that here in OBC, all parts of a book must be italicized.

Hope this clears your doubts :D
Yes, you have to italicize the series name along with the title of the book.
