I'd need someone's help deciding which one of these two versions is correct.

a) After spending several years in Atlanta, Brenna Burns, who belongs to this coven has returned home.

b) After spending several years in Atlanta, Brenna Burns, who belongs to this coven, has returned home.

Hi,

The second one is correct. The clause "who belongs to this coven" is nonessential in this sentence and should be set off with commas. Here is a link with a good explanation of nonessential elements and an example similar to your sentence: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writ ... ments.html
