Really need help with this

In my review, I wrote, "She heads to a meeting with President Daniel Arap Amoi and the Parliament with the hope of convincing them to take stronger action against the slave traders attacking Kenyans."
The editor said I should have said, "... convincing them to take a strong action..." instead.
Please is this correct?

Without the context, it is hard to be 100% sure, but I can't see why this would be an error. If they were already taking some kind of action against the slave traders, your comparative use of stronger is appropriate. If the government had not previously taken action, perhaps the editor's suggestion would be better. In any case, there is no grammatical error in the sentence you wrote.
