Is This An Error?

After they met, the realization that there was strong chemistry between them hit her squarely on her face, something that sharply conflicted her firm, cynical views about relationships.
Must there be "with" after "conflicted"? I feel the sentence is correct in its original context but I don't know how to explain it.

It is a small error that does not affect the legibility of the sentence but it would be better to write "conflicted with."

Hi there! No. I would not count it as error, and I would not add "with."

Yes, I agree, 'conflicted' should be associated with 'with'
