I have a question on which is the correct way to write that I had to read something a second time.

Is reread or re-read th correct way to spell this word. I have a bunch of conflicting answers from various spellchecking sites and want to write this correctly for my review.

Without seeing it in context, I can’t say if there would be a reason to include the hyphen, but the leading dictionaries (Merriam Webster, Cambridge, Collins) all list it as “reread,” so I would stick with that spelling.

Context is "I had to reread several lines to make sure I understood what I read."
