Which is correct?

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Sorry as far as I can tell it is an either/or. However, I would not use the qualifier THE if I were writing it. I like the sound of it and seems to be easier to read.

Hi,

Society can be countable or uncountable: the context determines if an article is needed. If a particular society has been mentioned and he controls every aspect of that society, include “the.” If the sentence is referring to society in general, omit “the.”

Hi, this basically takes us to the use of Articles in anaphora and cataphora. But again, that would depend on context. For example, if the "He" referred to God, tge article would need to be used, owing to His omnipotent attributes.
