Editors comments on my review questions

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Editors comments on my review questions

Post by Kimberly Walker 2 »

I recently received my first editor's comments on my review and I have a couple of questions maybe some of you could assist me with.
First, the suggestion was made to use a spell checker and I do. I use Grammarly and it missed mainly just commas or semicolons. I thought I had most placed properly but missed some myself. I would like to improve my reviews, is there a better spell checker someone can suggest?

Secondly, it was suggested to remove a comma that was from a direct quote from the book. It was written that way in the book so I kept it that way when quoting it in the review. Are we supposed to correct the grammatical errors in the book when quoting a line from the book?

Thanks for any assistance in advance.
