Capitalizing the names of specific places

I'm not clear on an editor comment I received on a recent review. I am not complaining, I simply don't understand the critique. If this is not the proper forum or I am in violation of rules please let me know.
I capitalized the name of a business (it is called "Purgatory") and the editor said in his/her critique that it was an unnecessary capitalization. I don't understand why that would be.
Is there another place to address questions regarding editor comments of reviews?

This is the right forum to ask about grammar.
If you have questions regarding editor comments though, you should contact Scott about it.

I think it should be capitalized because it's a name of a company. Maybe the editor was reading fast and didn't realize it was a proper noun.

That would be my guess as well. As I said, I'm not complaining in regards to the comment itself (it was only one of several errors), simply wondering if there is some standard I am unaware of in regards to capitalizing.

You always capitolize proper names, including company names. I agree that your editor probably didn't realize it was referring to a company.
