Hey all, this isn’t a grammar question but I didn’t know what forum to post this on. Since you’re mostly reviewers here, I thought you might be able to help.

I’m reading a young adult book and I’m pondering the post-review question about religion. This book, so far, has mentioned God several times in a vague sort of way. I know we’re supposed to consider Atheism as a religion but I don’t know if these vague mentions of God would require me to say that it’s a better book for people who believe in God or if it really doesn’t matter because God is not a focal point in this book. What is your opinion on this? I would rather avoid a dispute by the author on this point. Thanks!

Any opinions on advice from someone better or more experienced than me would a real treat. Still, after all this time, trying to get the lay if the land. What do ny counterparts here do with vague mentions or short conversations about God in a YA book that isn’t very specific and you’re just wondering if you should say it’s suitable for athiests as well as any other religion. Will it upset atheists if a book they or their kids read talk about God? I don’t know what to do for the best. The talks are vague, not talking about any specific God, bit the lines anz convsation are there. What is my duty here?

I writing, right now, my 58th and 59th review, so I hope that it's enough experience for you. If it is only here or there, then I would maybe mention in in the review that it was a random mention of God. Then in the PRQ, you can say it's suitable for all religions. It's tricky sometimes because once I wrote a mention of God, but the editor said my PRQ didn't match because I said it was suitable for everyone. I am not an athieist, but I am a non-practicing Catholic. I don't read books that are heavily into God and Religion. It makes me uncomfortable. Some reviews don't mention God at all and when you get into the book, it's heavily spattered with God and Bible passages.

Yeah, it’s hard to know what’s gonna make the editor you get happy and also not get a dispute from the author. This book doesn’t specify a religion but God is mentioned several times and talked about vaguely by one of the characters. It’s not a religious book and so far there are no bible passages, but God is definitely there.
