Confusion between "it' s and its"

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

Confusion between "it' s and its"

Its means something belongs to it like a dog is running along its tail. And it's simply means it is.

True. The first one relates to possession of something or a belonging . The other one is just it is. I think as time goes by we are becoming fond of short cuts and getting things done too quickly ,to such a point that we lose the meaning of almost everything. What do they call us again ..."microwave genaration" because everything is done in a minute with us.
