Ending Book summary with a Question

Hi,

I'm just checking to avoid losing marks in my review. I've seen reviews having the book summary end with a question.

For example,
"............... Mike is now devastated. Will he survive the troubles?"

I hope you understand me. Thanks.

Yes, I think this is an excellent way to attract readers to the book; we continue reading because we want to know the answers to the questions posed by the narrative. I have seen and used this often.

Interesting point. My personal hunch is that it would be fine (and appropriate) if the book ended on a cliffhanger, but I'm not so sure otherwise.

Thanks ButterscotchCherrie. Putting the questions in the plot summary is also a great idea.

Thanks Lincolnshirelass. Using questions to end a book summary when the book ends on a cliffhanger seems okay.

Sorry, for some reason my reading comprehension was on the fritz when I first replied to your post ( I thought you were asking about ending the review with a question). :? So I have edited my first response!

Anyway, I think it's great to end a book summary with a question.

Need more caffeine ...

Ending the book summary with a question could trigger the audience to read the book in order to find out the answer to that cliffhanger question. All my volunteer review summaries ended with questions.
