Hello folks, please can I have some advice from someone in the US? Do you spell fiancé with the accent or without it? Is it acceptable without? Thank you.

You would spell it with the accent for clarity. US based editor, here! It would also be fiancée for feminine.

Ah, I’ve found that the author used an accent on every other instance of fiancé, so I take it that the accent is required.

Ah, sorry, I posted before I knew that you’d replied. Thank you, the author, got all the other fiancés right, including the feminine fiancée.
Thanks for your help.
