At the end of the book, there's an intriguing preview of the next book in the series. Aurora learns that her cousin Constance time-traveled to 1692 Salem, Massachusetts, and never returned. She promises her Aunt Hespera that she'll soon be on her way to help find her. Readers who enjoy this book should also enjoy Sorcery and Skullduggery in Salem, the second book in the series.

I don't think it's a spoiler at all; you didn't give away anything, just described what the next book is about, not what happens in it. Also in the description of the second book on Amazon, the author says the same thing you do. So maybe the editor made a mistake, or there must be another reason. You should be fine.
