Hi all, I am a newbie though my reviews are good i always lose scores because of misplacing Comma. Can anyone please suggest me any good applications that can help me with my punctuation errors?

I don't know of any application to help you, but I always have this site open when I am proofreading my reviews:

It's not an absolute guide, but it helps me catch most of my mistakes.

Try asking Google about when to use a comma, that's what I do.

If you go to this page on Grammary Bytes http://www.chompchomp.com/rules.htm and scroll down to Comma Tips, you might find some help for your challenges with commas. Could you be more specific about what comma problems the reviewers are dinging you for?

I am a little embarrassed to admit, that I also misuse the comma in sentences. That is probably the main error if any are found that the editors point out on my reviews. It's actually kind of amusing as I tried Grammarly and other sites to check my grammar, and supposedly it checks your punctuation as well. But, on the times I checked the punctuation with one of these internet sites I actually received the worst score. So, I'm not sure which site to use now. Keep in mind I'm 54 and high school was a long time ago! Has anyone found a site that is more apt to be proficient? At least on the punctuation since that is my main problem.

I am so glad to read these posts about commas. Sigh. I used Grammarly to double check a review I'd just written and it said no errors. Alas, there were many issues when I submitted the piece. Aargh! I had the same issue when working directly with an editor so I'm not so impressed with the Grammarly software. Thanks to all of you with information about additional sources.

If you ever hesitate about using a comma, try searching on the net. Or you may want to install the app 'grammarly'. It will help.

Are you using the free Grammarly or the Premium? Premium shows more types of errors.

I've used both the free and paid subscriptions to Grammarly. I only recently learned that there is an Academic setting in the paid version that should pick up any comma errors. I may pay for it again on a trial basis to see if that is true.

I prefer Scribens over Grammarly - give that a go. Otherwise, PaperRater is also quite good.
When in doubt, put your review through all of the checkers
Or, you can always ask

PS. I found the paid subscription to Grammarly didn't pick up the errors I needed it to. I didn't think it was worth the money.

I always make mistakes in Tense structure and commas... I don't know how to fix it... I double check my review with Grammarly and Scribens. Still, there are so many mistakes in the review. my review score is affected by this. can anyone please help?

Thank you, Bianka Walter! I had not heard of the two programs you mentioned and I will check them out. Especially thank you for letting me know that Grammarly did not pick up errors with the paid version. I used the paid version for a year while working directly with an editor and it was crazy-making. I appreciate the feedback!

A comma is used before every item in a series, except the last. For example, "He bought shoes, pants, shirts and socks in the store". A comma is always used between two or more adjectives that describe the noun. "The tall, green tree stood in the park". A comma separates a subordinate clause from the main sentence. "When it snows, you must use snow tires". A comma separates an introductory word or phrase in a sentence. "On evenings, we usually sit in the garden". A comma is used before the conjunction in a compound sentence. "I came to visit you, but you were not at home".
