TThis book is right up my alley. Plot is based in true story but it seems like a 60s suspense movie where anyone and everyone is a suspect. A story full if lies deciet suspense murder philandering characters sounds engrossing enough for me to check this book out. Congrats on BOTD.

I have to start with: I love lawyers turned writers, as a lawyer myself I found their stories captivating, intriguing and accurate.
I'll give this book a try, I like the fact that it was inspired by real murdering wives (and gossip)

Sometime is the 1930’s, a group of women murder their husbands in cold blood, some with the assistance of a local Tailor, Giorgio who is probably part of the deal. The fiction is based on this fact and is riveting. It is a gripping tale of greed, negligence and seeking for revenge with a twist to make money off the deaths, through among others insurance. No one saw this coming with the police hesitant even when one mother-law is suspicious. When they finally do, things are almost out of hand. It delves into prejudice and depravity. From the review, this is a fast paced and interesting read from an informed author.

I think the author would have benefitted by using a different title than The Wicked Wives. The title makes the book sounds like a cheesy romance or a chick-lit story about witches. This is an excellent story that should appeal to both men and women. A different title might attract a wider group of readers.
Yes, you're right. The title is too cheeky for such a grim subject. But other than that, this seems like an interesting book for those of us who enjoy both true crime and historical novels. And I like the fact that the author made a thorough job at developing the characters, especially to understand their criminal motivations.
Thank you for your fantastic review!

The world today keeps shifting from providing morals to exposing generations to more vices. The 12 women who full of greed, materialism, thirst for power given by wealth are ready to sacrifice their husbands for compensation. The corrupt deals with insurance companies is exposed informing the reader to trend carefully when transacting such deals. These are possibilities in our contemporary society where challenges are making many lose hope and opt for the bitter, painful option. Love is therefore portrayed as a questionable existence through the character's. Congrats to it's being the BOTD.

No one will mind a grieving widow... And not many would miss a dead man.
Just based on the review, I want to read the rest of the book, not just the offered sample.
Congratulations 👏

It's amazing how some women can be desperate to the extent of killing their husbands. And that tailor? Who would have imagined.... :o

This is a excellent review!
You took me right into the book and steered up my desire to read the book. :techie-studyinggray: I can just imagine it as a movie already.

Good work! :tiphat:
